“May I Have This Dance?” is a thought
provoking conversation between Father and His child. Concurrently, it
is a conversation between Jesus and His Bride, the Church.
Intimacy is a love relationship which takes our most
profound emotions and illuminates to bring to life the art of
lovemaking. It is our Father’s intimate heart expression
concerning His child. “May I Have This Dance?” explores
these relationships between God the Father and God the Son.
The essence of lovemaking that I am referring to
portrays a spiritual intimacy, an affection that depends upon the state
of our heart before our Father who is in Heaven. Proverbs 23:7 says:
“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” It is the art
of Him loving His child and of His child reciprocating His love. It is
an intimacy that depends upon the condition of each heart. As the heart
is, so are we before our Lord. We can only progress forward with Him as
we allow our hearts to be stimulated and awakened by the Spirit of God.
This is not a carnal or physical attraction, but a wooing, a longing,
living expression of His song, His dance.
Many of the words that are used to describe
relationships between parents and children, husbands and wives are used
in the following chapters. Words such as intimacy, desire, love and
caress, provoke thoughts of carnal love by the world’s
definition. God, however, views the relationships with his children
differently. His ways are so much higher than our way of understanding.
He desires intimacy from us. His Spirit caresses our spirits. He draws
us into His embrace.
Unlock the crevice of your being. Look for the
skyline, the horizon of your love! See the colors of your rainbow
together, as it manifests before your very eyes! Expect your heart to
skip its beat and your emotions to soar quickly to the highest heights,
where the lover of your soul awaits you there. Expect your thoughts to
reveal His passion for you, as He takes you right where you are and
brings you to His chamber door. Come, Beloved, Come!
