How Do I Say I'm Sorry?
by Shakera Reid

How do I say I'm sorry for never being there?
How do I say I'm sorry for not showing how much I care?
Which way is the right way to show my ever growing remorse?
And why is it so hard to steer my emotions on the proper course?

I find that life gets complicated and love gets lost in the shuffle,
I snap and shout and carry on, when you're just being helpful.
You're considerate and kind and I can always depend on you,
But I only seem to complain about the "silly things" you do.

How do I say I'm sorry for all your sleepless nights?
How do I say I'm sorry for all the arguments and fights?
When is the right time to humble myself and let you know how I feel?
And how can I assure you that the love I have for you is real?

Shakera Reid was born in Kingston, Jamaica and raised in Miramar, Florida. Her passion in life is counseling and educating youth. Hobbies include traveling, writing and watching movies. Her hope is to encourage others through her writing and to help them in their Christian walk.
