What Are You Doing to Enhance Your Personal Quality of Life?
by Blondie L. Clayton

Think about who you are and what you have become. Assess yourself: from last year to this year, has your life remained the same?

There is so much that we can do to make our lives better, to make our lifestyle better, to become better people.

You are more than body and mind. You have a spiritual side. It is probably the side you least recognize. It’s amazing how we feed our body and our mind (soul) yet we neglect the spirit.

It is because we associate it with religion, or religious fanatics and we don’t want to be associated with them, or we can’t see it so it doesn’t exist.

You have probably picked up a book, or listened to a tape, or speaker and realized that a part of you was touched that you really couldn’t explain.

Can we really be whole, live a powerful life without the spirit? Some want to believe they can. We see the results of spiritless living in the broken, damaged lives of the famous and super rich, as well as the nobody’s and poor.

Just because you can’t see something does that mean it doesn’t exist? Air cannot be seen with the naked eye but it exists; so does gravity for that matter. We have given it a name. It exists. Try jumping from off a rooftop, gravity that you can’t see will pull you right down to your death.

In the hustle and bustle of daily living, bombarded by  troubles, noise, and the rhetoric, one can become overwhelmed to the point it affects your health and well being.  What that tells us is that we have been looking to our own efforts to deal with our lives and the result is we are run down and wearing out.

When one finds themselves in that spot you can be rendered hopeless. You are in a place where you need something else in your life.

There is another door that is yearning to be opened, to bring you balance, to energize you, to restore peace and harmony.

What you soon realize, that you have fed your body and mind and starved your spirit who desires to connect with you, to reunite you to the creator of the universe.

By reading this piece you have become enlightened. Perhaps what you have been feeling, that empty place that you have been trying to fill  with things, places, people and  luxury is a lot more simple than what you think.

It just might be that you need to refresh your spirit. After reading this, find other writings that touch the soul and awakens the spirit.

Here are some suggestions: Autobiographies of other people’s life changing  experiences, books such as the  Holy Scripture writings contained in the Bible. Seek your spiritual connection through prayer.
