Catherine (Cathee) Roach-Connor
|
Diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 35, Catherine
Roach-Connor (Cathee) was inspired to combine her
dance background with her cancer experience to create the Dance of
Life, illustrating her journey into wellness thru the art of dance.
This book: Psalms In The Dance Of Life is vividly
choreographed with
dance movements and Psalms relating to Connor’s struggles,
strengths and how she found peace in the midst of it all. Combining
dance and the Psalms, Connor seeks to inspire others not to give up and
to continue to use their gifts to encourage others to live.
Each photo was carefully selected to give you, the reader, and seeker,
the greatest enjoyment. Though Connor has had several trials and
tribulations since her diagnosis over 16 years ago, she is full of joy,
peace and happiness. You hold in your hand her legacy, to help another
along the way who may be wondering whether there is real life after
breast cancer or any traumatic life altering experience.
Connor lives by the words: “Tomorrow is not promised to you, so make today your very best day.”
A native of New York, Connor started dancing at the age of five at the
Bernice Johnson Dance Studio. She graduated from Howard University in
Washington, D.C. with a degree in Physical Education: in addition, she
received a two-year graduate fellowship at the University of Maryland
in Exercise Physiology/Health Education.
She presently resides in Miami, Florida and spends her time teaching,
speaking and dancing, as well as volunteering as a Reach To Recovery
Area Trainer and a Triple Touch II Breast Health Instructor for the
American Cancer Society.
